Rant type thing
No lie - I’m really getting tired of all of these random Joseph Gordon-Levitt fangirls. “oh he’s so cute”, “I want a guy like Tom from (500) days of summer or Cameron from 10 things I hate about you”, “Arthur was looking good in those suits during inception”, “I hate lexy hulme, why can’t he date meeeee?!!”…. News flash: I don’t give a fuck about those things. Why do his looks even matter? It should be his performances we care about. I feel like some of his great works, like brick, manic, latter days, or even uncertainty are soon going to be forgotten because his celebrity status will have taken over. It’s funny how people can just take the characters he plays and assume it’s actually him, even more funny how they never love his character when it’s like the one he played in killshot or something along those lines (probably cause they’ve never seen the movie in the first place).
Also, these fangirls are fucking up the hitRECord community. WHY join if you DON’T participate??? Example: The summer in the city live stream. Yeah, it was great that all of those under 21 people could have access to the show. What sucked was the fact there was a little chat area so hitRECorders could discuss all of the records shown and anything else dealing with hitRECord. Instead it was full of people who continued to tell Joe how much they loved him and spam a bunch of hearts and smily faces and other dumb shit. This forced actual hitRECorders to leave and start a different chat on skype where many others couldn’t participate because they didn’t have skype. It sucked. What also annoyed me was the fact that these people in the chat were talking crap on Lexy Hulme and wishing death and other shit upon her because she’s dating Joe. WHAT??? Why would you ever wish death upon someone? Because she’s dating an actor you will most likely never know? That’s extremely horrible, dumb, and definitely crosses the insanity/crazy lines.
Now, I love Joe’s work, he’s been my favorite actor since Sweet Jane came out and it’s great that he is getting recognized as one of the great actors of our time, he deserves it; But if i had to honestly give up (500) day of summer and inception (both of which I loved) and just have him in a bunch of small indie films that people appreciated for his acting abilities rather than his looks or whatever, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I sorta miss that whole best kept secret type of thing.
